Public Policy
The Chamber is an active political advocate for west St. Tammany. We monitor and influence legislation and regulations, and speak on your behalf at local, state and federal levels. Our positions are informed by member committees and approved by the Board in accordance with our mission.
One of our most effective tools for change is coalition building and over the years, we have reached new levels of engagement and cooperation. A good example of this is the recently formed Joint Public Policy Committee, built on representation from our Chamber, the East St. Tammany Chamber and the Northshore Business Council. Together, we have been able to hire a dedicated legislative advocate to promote parish priorities: transportation and infrastructure, insurance reform and property tax reform.
