Effective leadership is extremely important to the vitality of any volunteer organization. Our chamber is fortunate to have a Board of Directors and Executive Committee comprised of a wide range of individuals who understand why a strong Chamber of Commerce is critical to maintaining our quality of life. Together, they work to promote business in the community, provide programs and activities that benefit our members, and strengthen the business climate of St. Tammany Parish.
Our 2016 Executive Committee was recently installed, and is made up of eight proven business leaders, each of whom has committed a great deal of time, energy and expertise to advancing our goals and objectives. They bring combined years of experience in previous chairman or active committee member roles in membership development, finance and funding, public policy issues and communications.
Our 2016 Chairman of the Board is Bret Kolman of Lakeview Regional Medical Center. With over twenty years experience in medical administration, Bret joined Lakeview Regional’s Chief Executive Officer in 1992. He is also an active leader in other community organizations throughout the area, including his current service as the Board Chair of the Metropolitan Hospital Council of New Orleans and was the 2015 Chairman of the Northshore Heart Walk.
Our Executive Committee also includes: Cynthia Thompson of Impera Wealth Management as Chair-Elect; Christina Chifici of LaPorte CPAs and Business Advisors as Treasurer; Melissa Penzato with Melissa Penzato, Allstate Agency as Vice Chairman of Membership; George “Townsend” Underhill of Stirling Properties as Vice Chairman of Public Policy; Ryan Myers with F.H. Myers Construction as Vice Chairman of Communications; and Patrick Gros with Patrick J. Gros, CPA & Professional Accounting Corporation as Vice Chairman of Small Business Support. Larry Manshel of ITC Promotional Marketing Group will remain on the Executive Committee as immediate Past-Chairman.
On behalf of our membership, we thank these leaders for their commitment to serve and lead new programs designed to better serve the diverse and ever-changing needs of our membership in the year and years ahead.
