Our board of directors is made up of local business professionals who understand our mission to meet the needs of membership. According to our by-laws, full board members serve a three-year term. At the end of every calendar year, six rotate off and six new members are nominated and elected to take their place.
We are pleased to announce our newest directors for the 2017-2019 term, each of whom has committed their time and expertise to fulfill our mission: Rhonda Bagby, Humana Health Benefit Plan of Louisiana; Maria Landry, Fleur-de-Lis Insurance LLC; Tom Meyer, Benefit Planning Group; Mike Nicaud, Hornbeck Offshore Services, Inc.; Aldric “Ric” Poirier, Blue Williams, L.L.P.; and Mike Saucier, Gulf States Real Estate Services, LLC.
Cynthia Thompson of Impera Wealth Management will serve as our 2017 Chairman. As part of her incoming chairman duties, Cynthia has appointed nine one-year termed advisory board members to round out our membership representation in the year ahead. These include: David Boudreaux, Whitney Bank; Lauren Buggs, Chevron; Catherine Deano, Painting with a Twist; Brad Goodson, Ochsner North Shore; Paul LeBlanc, Arbor Lending Group LLC; Trilby Lenfant, St. Tammany Parish Government; Lori Murphy, Inside Northside Magazine; Regina Sanford, St. Tammany Parish Public School System; and Mike Tillman, Rain Carbon Inc.
This week the new directors will be led in an orientation process, detailing their role in accordance with Chamber by-laws and accreditation standards of excellence that enable our success as a 5-star accredited Chamber. All incoming board and advisory members are required to attend. In addition, all current, incoming and outgoing directors will attend an all-day planning retreat. They review input from our membership survey and focus group feedback to develop a program of work that outlines the goals and strategies for the year ahead.
The board is comprised of a wide range of individuals in a variety of fields that include CEOs or owners of leading businesses both large and small. Board members donate a great deal of their energy and expertise to board service and truly have the best interest of the Chamber and the business community at heart. On behalf of our 1,000 member businesses, we sincerely thank all of our directors for their willingness to serve.
