Michelle Biggs, IOM
Communications and Administrative Officer
As CAO, Michelle oversees day-to-day management of the Chamber, as well as all communications strategies to reinforce the Chamber’s mission, including issues relative to public policy, economic development and regional and parish businesses.
Michelle holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Journalism from Louisiana State University and has over 25 years of experience in strategic planning, many of which have been for non-profits. Before joining our staff, Michelle served as Associate Director for Columbia Theatre for the Performing Arts, where she managed all marketing efforts (advertising, public relations and social media) for the 850-seat theatre, as well as fundraising and grant writing for over 200 arts events each year.
She also previously managed her husband’s award-winning advertising studio Biggs Design, where she planned and managed marketing and advertising projects for clients such as the New Orleans Museum of Art, Mignon Faget, the New Orleans Convention and Visitors Bureau and Hilton Hotels of Chicago.
Michelle is a 2015 graduate of the U.S. Chamber’s Institute for Organization Management program, a four-year educational program on nonprofit management, held at the University of Georgia. She is also a 2013 graduate of New Orleans Regional Leadership Institute.
Michelle is active with the New Orleans chapter of the American Marketing Association and is a former member of the Junior Leagues of Greater Covington and New Orleans. A long time patron of the arts, she currently serves on the Board of Directors for St. Tammany Art Association, as well as on Advisory Boards for both the Louisiana Philharmonic Orchestra and the Columbia Theatre. She and her husband Ed live in Covington.
