Events

Monthly events offer valuable networking opportunities to meet other members, learn about their businesses and promote your own.

Speed Dating for Businesses

Participants in this event almost always leave with one or two great business leads. This popular event is described as “speed dating” for businesses. 50 businesses are given a space on the perimeter of the room to display information about their company. To play the game, everyone is seated at table of 7 and over the course of the event, each person gets to give a 1-minute presentation to the other 49 business people in attendance. This is accomplished by moving from one colored table to another every 10 minutes based on the table assignment card found at each person’s seat.  Winner of the best table display for their business receives complimentary admission to the next event.

Business After Hours

Normally held the third Wednesday of every month, Business After Hours attracts some 200 guests who enjoy an early evening of food, drinks and casual networking. Each month’s event is hosted by a different business, giving those who attend Business After Hours an opportunity to visit and understand the businesses in our community and allowing the Host to spotlight their place of business and its services. Because this is one of our most popular and well-attended events, Business After Hours Host Sponsorships often sell out months in advance.

Monthly Luncheons

An excellent way to learn about issues that affect the St. Tammany community as they happen, the Chamber’s monthly luncheons put you in touch with informed sources on current affairs and business related issues.  Guest speakers include parish, state and national governmental officials, leaders in the field of education, workforce development, the cultural economy, and healthcare. Most often held the final Wednesday of each month, our website’s calendar page lists location, speaker and topics for each luncheon. Seating is limited, so make your reservations early.

Member Orientation

A view from the top and around the room, Member Orientation offers new, prospective and existing members a chance to learn about Chamber membership and each of the programs and tools we offer. Business cards are a must as attendees get an opportunity to network with one another by introducing themselves and their business to other members. This event is held bi-monthly on the final Friday of the month.

B2B (Business to Business) Networking

Business-to-Business is open to 25 – 30 attendees. This event provides a fast/effective networking opportunity for attendees because rather than a quick introduction and exchange of business cards, each person has time to give a sales pitch about what distinguishes their business or service from others in their field. Prior to the event, the name of one of the businesses is drawn to give a 10-minute presentation of the business products or services they offer. This person is also asked to bring pastries or a breakfast snack for the group. Other attendees each give a 1-minute presentation about the products or services of their business. Attendees exchange business cards and brochures so that they can follow up on with the new people they meet.
