Celebrate Christmas at tha Marina
Lake Pontchartrain Harbor Marina will host “Christmas at the Marina“ on December 10, 2011 from 4:00 pm – 9:00 pm as a fundraiser for the Samaritan Center in Mandeville, LA. Santa will arrive by boat at 4:00 pm and will offer keepsake pictures taken with him throughout the evening. Santa’s elves will help guests make their very own picture frames, join in the reindeer games, or read a book with Mrs. Claus. There will be Christmas tree lighting at dusk. More info.
Feed the needy this holiday season
The Covington Rotary Club presents Feeding the Needy Fundraiser Luncheon with special guests Jay Dardenne, Lieutenant Governor and Tom Schedler, Secretary of State. December 13th, 2011 11:45-1:30pm. It will be held at the Clarion Inn, 501N Hwy 190 Covington, LA 70433. The cost per person is $45 and all proceeds are used to feed hungry families on Christmas morning. Southeastern offers non-credit classes
The Division of Extended Studies at Southeastern Louisiana University offers a variety of non-credit Career Enrichment Programs to meet the needs of individuals, businesses, organizations and government agencies. Categoriesfor career enrichment offerings include Business & Administration, Leadership, Information and Technology, Test Preparation, and Skilled Trades. Southeastern faculty or experts in the field are instructors for all courses. These courses are taught at Southeastern's St. Tammany Center in Mandeville, Southeastern's Main Campus and the Livingston Literary and Technology Center in Walker. Courses can be customized and taught at another location upon approval. Southeastern also offers Teacher Enrichment, Personal Enrichment, Golden Enrichment and Youth Enrichment Programs.
