Business Support Committees
Small Business Advisory Council (SBAC)
The SBAC assists members through job fairs, seminars, recognition awards and trade shows. Our members keep current with trends and issues so they can plan and coordinate meaningful seminars, workshops and training sessions.
SBAC members also play an active role in nominations for the annual Business Appreciation Awards. The awards recognize achievement in a range of categories from business longevity to community participation by employees, and are presented each fall.
Cultural Economy Committee
Many artists call St. Tammany Parish home, and their businesses play a vital role in framing our lifestyle and fueling our economy. That’s why in 2007, the Chamber formed the Cultural Economy Committee to promote and recognize artists, galleries, restaurants, tourist destinations, fashion designers and other creative businesses for their important economic and quality of life contributions to our community.
The Committee hit the ground running with Cultural Economy Awareness Week August 20 – 24, 2007. Highlights included a keynote luncheon featuring Lt. Governor Mitch Landrieu along with representatives from the State Department of Culture, Recreation and Tourism and the Louisiana Cultural Economy Foundation. We look forward to coming up with even more new events to celebrate the arts and their role in St. Tammany.
Ambassadors Council
This highly dedicated group donates a generous amount of time and energy to welcoming our newest members. Through direct personal contact with owners and area professionals, they are able to promote the interests of both the Chamber and their own businesses.
Ambassadors visit new members within 60 days to offer information on our programs, services and benefits and encourage new members to become actively involved. The Council meets monthly, and its members represent the Chamber at Ribbon Cutting Ceremonies and official events.
If you’re a member in good standing of at least one year and are willing to participate in mandatory training, the Council offers an unprecedented opportunity to network and develop new business contacts.
Membership Drive Committee
Membership is the lifeblood of the Chamber, and this committee assists with planning and executing our annual membership drive. Your participation is an excellent way to network with other volunteers while developing new business contacts.
